Are You Practicing The Fundamentals?

What are they in what we do?

  • See The People
  • Tell The Story
  • Build For Events
  • Follow Up

When you really  get good at doing these 4 CORE  things in a MASSIVE ACTION format..

you will be producing some major income! When you TEACH these 4 things to your team…

and they teach their teams etc….

well…then we’re talking “sipping out of the coconut” money!!

1) See The People / Collecting & Capturing People

Seeing the people is anything that entails bringing a NEW CONTACT into your sales process, or in front of your offer. Have lots of ways going at once so that you are not depending on “one lake to fish in” so to speak. Talk to people, make friends in all the social sites, go to meet ups, post content and plaster it everywhere, join groups and network, post flyers with your website link.You get the idea!! Capture their information on a capture page, email list, business card etc.

2) Tell The Story/ Communicating

This is where people hear from you in your funnel,  or are moved to a presentation, conference call and onto some type of webinar, website etc. In the offline world it is when you do a presentation one-on-one, or take someone to a meeting. It is also when you make initial phone presentations. Picture a baseball diamond, and this is second base.

3) Build For Events

One of the most lucrative and secret keys that the BIG LEADERS understand. When you truly learn how to build for events, it will make you more money than any other step. An event is not just a meeting. It is a conference call or a webinar again. It could be a special call that you throw together strategically with your super cool up-line who you are edifying because you hit it off with her at an event, and she wants to meet your team. If you build it right in that time period, that could only be a day…and you edify her properly..and she edifies YOU..she ends up making you look like a KING OR QUEEN. Regional and National events drive our business. NEVER go to them alone!! If you do, you will always wish you had your team there with you. If you have not sponsored anyone, of course go!! Build, Build, Build for events. Companies and leaders are always building to the next event..watch with those eyes and you will see!

4$$$ Follow Up / Close

Yes! Yes! The fortune really IS in the follow up! If you go to all the trouble of practicing all this, and you don’t follow the people you work with, you won’t close sales. Your List that you are building is going to be worth its weight in gold! So how you strategically close people in your emails is very important. If you truly KNOW YOUR MARKET, they won’t know they are being closed, because you are simple bringing them what they already want and are looking for!

As for “offline” there is no reason you should have to close your own sales.  If you feel alone in your business, you are on the wrong team. Plain and simple.Your upline should be doing 3-way calls for you, and closing your prospects for you, and if you’re not doing that…give us a shout and we will coach you on how to ask for their help.

Getting Inside The Mind of Your Customer Can Make You Rich

Sometimes a little perspective can be a very good thing!! A trip to the local grocery store one day

(actually out of the grocery store!) got me thinking…

Inside the mind of our customer…What do you think when you see these bulletin boards?

To be a good marketer we must get into the shoes of our customer, and think how they would be thinking!!

What kinds of things would they most likely DO?  What is YOUR CUSTOMER THINKING??

What are their motivations? Would they make a phone call…or go to a site?

Where do they hang out? What are their behavior patterns?

Yin and Yang Marketing:Simple-Balanced-Attraction

This Symbol(Yin-Yang) represents the ancient Chinese understanding of how things work. The outer circle represents “everything”, while the black and white shapes within the circle represent the interaction of two energies, called “yin” (black) and “yang” (white), which cause everything to happen. They are not completely black or white, just as things in life are not completely black or white, and they cannot exist without the other.

  • Receptive
  • Moon
  • Cool
  • Night
  • Soft
  • Stillness

So what could Yin and Yang possibly have to do with Marketing?

Marketing can either be a complex process, or a very simple one, and it’s the key that unlocks everything once understood. It has evolved dramatically  over the last 10 years with the popularity of the Internet, Iphones, Ipads, mobile marketing and laptops. People take their life with them everywhere, so you can literally market to people on everything and in everything, Media and its messages are non-stop with lots of things you can use to effectively;

  • Collect
  • Capture
  • Communicate
  • Close  .. your customer or prospect in the sales process. What’s really cool is that you can blend methods, play around with techniques and the sky is the limit!! It used to be that we were very limited to ads, voicemail, faxes, recordings and flyers.

So where does Yin and Yang fit? I will tell you right now, that when your mind open up to this you’ll see that the possibilities are literally endless. But here’s a simple idea:

Put the Link on the bottom of The Flyer (Yin & Yang Method)

Put a Fishbowl in a Restaurant To Collect Business cards and partner with the owner to give away a Free Lunch Once a Week, (Offline method)

Create a Capture Page With a You Tube Video (Online Method)

Put a Sign With a Link To The Page and Offer A Free Social Media Newsletter (Yin & Yang Method)

3)

Collect Address on your SALES PAGE (second page of opt-in)  (Online Method)

Send a personal Note Card to these people with a special photo or quote (Offline Method)

On the note card put a SPECIAL LINK to a NEW OFFER (Yin & Yang Method)

Those were just 3 ideas but you can see that there are many ways to cross over what you’re doing online with offline for success. There are many more to come from this brain of mine!!

Let me explain. almost 5 years ago one of our blogs was doing great generating leads for a very specific niche market. As successful professional network marketers for over 20 years we had worked our business in the offline method doing meetings, presentations, and one-on-ones. As the leads came in, I had two choices: I could simply funnel them through an online process and keep them completely online with autoresponder letters, social media and such, OR I could take the relationships on to the telephone, using a combination of methods like 3-way calls, webinars, video email  and close the sales myself, for greater success. In this particular case, balancing the Yin and Yang PAID OFF. Our success in combining the two methods proved to be the greatest success we have ever had to date in direct sales.

The great thing about creating a strong online marketing funnel is that you are able to communicate with your market regularly. In fact, you can create such a great funnel process that your market will buy from you day and night, depending on how you communicate with them. You can experiment with mixing and matching the online and offline techniques. It all depends on what you want. I LOVE talking to people, and building relationships over the phone.But listen to my point here..it’s my choice..and it’s YOUR CHOICE!! If you are truly running your business RIGHT..

  • You Know Your Market Inside and Out
  • You Have a 90 Day Plan and Your are Executing it
  • You Have Several Marketing Methods All Working At Once
  • You Are Constantly Creating FRESH Content
  • You Are Collecting Fresh Leads by the LOAD Daily!
  • Finally…You are CONVERTING the Leads into BUSINESS $$

The point here is YOU are the one in control!! That’s what having your own business is about: Serving your customers needs, and guiding them because you know where they want to go! So Yin & Yang can be a really great model in which to think about your methods. It can help you “think outside the box”, get into balance a little more, and be bold enough to try new things. This is a noisy and crowded marketplace that we are in right now. So if you pop up as one with the CREATIVITY, the SMARTS and the COURAGE…WOW..Your customers are going to be LOCKED to you for life!!

Make A Phone Call and Stand Out !!

I heard the great social media leader Jackie Ulmer the other night leading up to her appearance here.  She gave a fantastic presentation, and shared her formula for social media success. The biggest thing I took away was that Jackie has built a strong following by being authentic, and allowing people to see into her life! She remarked that she reaches out to the people she meets online BY TELEPHONE and people are actually surprised when they hear from her, They tell her “I’m kinda surprised you’re calling me..you’re the only person who has!!” It made me relate to a video I had made a few weeks ago about the importance of reaching out over the phone. Here it is:

Making connections with people is vital to your business. In social media you need to remember that the social sites are simply a “meeting ground” or place to be SOCIAL. It’s after the party so to speak that you begin to really talk and get into a closer communication with a person. I promise that if you reach out to a person by telephone you are going to be doing something very unique that not many people are doing right now. Of course you need to do it AUTHENTICALLY, with sincerity.

Three Way Calling: The Most Dangerous Weapon In Your Arsenal

Do you use Three Way Calling  in your Network Marketing business?

We have been at this MLM game for a lot of years now and never fails to amaze us, how many distributors are not using the single most dangerous weapon in your arsenal…Three Way Calling. Sure some do, but it’s like anything else; “The golden key” can be handed to you, and unless you are willing to put it to USE consistently, it’s just another great concept. A small percentage of SMART, SAVVY marketers use this power tool. These are the same ones making the BIG BUCKS! Put this into practice, and watch your enterprise flourish!! Rather than discuss why people don’t use Three Way Calling,  let’s talk about how and why using the 3-way call will boost your profits almost OVERNIGHT. Do it and report back to us!

  • It Provides credibility: You know how you hear something from your spouse/parent 3 times, and then someone else says it and you finally HEAR it for the FIRST time? That’s 3rd Party CREDIBILITY In Action! Why does the third person have more credibility? Because they are outside the circle, and it’s as if you have fresh ears!!
  • Think back to an example in your own life of when you have told someone close to you something EXTREMELY PASSIONATELY IMPORTANT and they just were not hearing you.
  • Then, they HEARD IT SOMEPLACE ELSE, come and told you, AND YOU JUST ABOUT WANTED TO PUNCH THEM!!!  Do you get the point??
  • Third party credibility has NOTHING to do with your ability to communicate the information as well or better than the 3rd person. It has to do with the DYNAMIC of the call, and providing the best information for the prospect, that is going to BE HEARD by your prospect.
  • Why would you keep doing all the talking, when you can get one-three great people on the phone who can “relate” well with your prospect, to move the process along?
  • The Third party provides validation that your product or service is great, does the talking for you!
  • The 3-way EDIFIES YOU as the expert!
  • Three way Calling Shows that there’s a simple system in place so it looks easy and duplicable
  • Makes the process easy and fun!!

We have a saying in our business that “If you are not doing 3-way calls..You are probably not making money!” and I can lay you money that it’s true! When we take a look at the businesses of the successful and unsuccessful people in our group, who have fast growing down lines,  they are ALWAYS the ones.

  • Here’s HOW to do a perfect 3-way call:
  • While you’re talking to your prospect,
  • Flash your phone and dial your sponsor or business partner.
  • Note: Some 3-way calls need to be scheduled in advance according to the arrangements you make with the people you work with.
  • Others can be done on the fly.
  • Fill in your 3-way Partner:
  • When you get your business partner on the line, explain a little about your prospect in a few seconds, and flash again to connect the 3 of you.

Then say:

“Hello Jim, I took the liberty of bringing my business partner Mary on the line to chat with us for a few minutes, and to answer your questions. Mary has been doing very well with the business (or product), Jim say hi to my friend Mary (smile)! “  Then put imaginary duck tape over your mouth!! Don’t talk! Let the 3-way business/upline partner person talk and get to know your prospect. If the upline INVITES you to say something, then you may talk, otherwise just be quiet, an allow the upline leader to take the call where it needs to go.

Sometimes, like in a weight loss or health an wellness company, you can do very short, testimonial 3-ways that are simply to allow your prospect to listen to 3-6 people who have used your product and had great results. This would be different than using an upline leader.

One tip is to match up similar people together. For instance, if you had a prospect who is a nurse, and you knew of a 3-way business partner who is a nurse having success, put the two together. If you have a real estate person, find a real estate person, etc.  If that is not possible, it is totally fine to do 3-way calls with the same couple of people, as long as they are providing good information, doing a good job, and you’re advancing by closing sales. The name of the game is getting the job done!!

One other note: Why do folks NOT do Three Way Calls? It has been our experience that they are AFRAID to contact up line leadership!!  Many new people (and even not so new) are in fear of “disturbing”, bothering, or getting in the way. Nothing could be further from the truth!!! This is how we earn our money.

We’ve seen distributors who “got over it” and began doing 3-way calls….when they were previously resistant to them, and their business TOOK OFF. Many went to thousands a month from making nothing, and some went to all out massive success multiple six figures!!

So, get a list going of who you can do 3-way calls with. If you need help on anything let us know. We’d be happy to coach on the fine points. Whatever you do…consider implementing this powerful strategy if you are not already.

Do you use Three Way Calling  in your Network Marketing business?

We have been at this MLM game for a lot of years now and never fails to amaze us, how many distributors are not using the single most dangerous weapon in your arsenal…Three Way Calling. Sure some do, but it’s like anything else; “The golden key” can be handed to you, and unless you are willing to put it to USE consistently, it’s just another great concept. A small percentage of SMART, SAVVY marketers use this power tool. These are the same ones making the BIG BUCKS! Put this into practice, and watch your enterprise flourish!! Rather than discuss why people don’t use Three Way Calling,  let’s talk about how and why using the 3-way call will boost your profits almost OVERNIGHT. Do it and report back to us!

  • It Provides credibility: You know how you hear something from your spouse/parent 3 times, and then someone else says it and you finally HEAR it for the FIRST time? That’s 3rd Party CREDIBILITY In Action! Why does the third person have more credibility? Because they are outside the circle, and it’s as if you have fresh ears!!
  • Think back to an example in your own life of when you have told someone close to you something EXTREMELY PASSIONATELY IMPORTANT and they just were not hearing you.
  • Then, they HEARD IT SOMEPLACE ELSE, come and told you, AND YOU JUST ABOUT WANTED TO PUNCH THEM!!!  Do you get the point??
  • Third party credibility has NOTHING to do with your ability to communicate the information as well or better than the 3rd person. It has to do with the DYNAMIC of the call, and providing the best information for the prospect, that is going to BE HEARD by your prospect.
  • Why would you keep doing all the talking, when you can get one-three great people on the phone who can “relate” well with your prospect, to move the process along?
  • The Third party provides validation that your product or service is great, does the talking for you!
  • The 3-way EDIFIES YOU as the expert!
  • Three way Calling Shows that there’s a simple system in place so it looks easy and duplicable
  • Makes the process easy and fun!!

We have a saying in our business that “If you are not doing 3-way calls..You are probably not making money!” and I can lay you money that it’s true! When we take a look at the businesses of the successful and unsuccessful people in our group, who have fast growing down lines,  they are ALWAYS the ones.

  • Here’s HOW to do a perfect 3-way call:
  • While you’re talking to your prospect,
  • Flash your phone and dial your sponsor or business partner.
  • Note: Some 3-way calls need to be scheduled in advance according to the arrangements you make with the people you work with.
  • Others can be done on the fly.
  • Fill in your 3-way Partner:

Golf Clubs and Marketing Methods:The Basics Will Always Win Out!

Who invented these terms “old school and new school” ? Marketing has always been the same since the beginning of time. The only thing that ever changes is the medium of how the information is delivered. I think one of the problems is that we as a society tend to want everything yesterday and we don’t want to “pay the price” so along comes the idea of a “new way of marketing” and we all think we are going to get rich and have to work less…… NOT True !

If we can apply the speed of building a relationship using the “new school” tools and then transition them to a real time connectivity, person to person again using the new tools, (skype, facebook, twitter etc.) then you have the best of both worlds. If on the other hand you try and make the internet do all the work for you and think you don’t have to build, and develop relationships you are going to be disappointed

Laura and I are amongst the first to be lucky enough to be part of “both of these worlds” and it can be a blessing to us or a curse depending on how we use it. Lets enjoy the lessons of success in this new millennium. We are excited to part of this important gathering of like minded leaders.

Online Social Networking and MLM: A Reality Check

It is a historic fact that when the economy is down, the Network Marketing, and Direct Sales Industries goes into full-tilt-upswing. And so because of this there is positive growth like the industry has not seen in many years, especially with the increase of Online Social Networking and MLM in the last 5 years! Companies are posting record breaking numbers, and YOU have an opportunity to capitalize on this growth if you are smart and know what to DO and look for. You might already be with your “home” and be focused like never before! Good for you!!

We’ve been watching a bit of a “feeding frenzy” industry wide, as all this new growth is causing many new start-ups to emerge. Our phone has never rung so much! In this time of “doom and gloom” headlines, I don’t know about you or your friends, but some of ours are distracted, confused, and overwhelmed. Hey..we are too!! It can be a challenging  time in the economy, and with MASS technology. If anyone is honestly telling me that at times it’s not, they are kidding themselves. The Internet over the last 5 years especially, to a large extent has become a source of such overpowering opportunity. People are at a banquet every day, and they are turkey-dinner-stuffed by instant technology before they even sit down to eat.

Online Marketing Overwhelm

Those that have ventured online to to generate leads have found the choices and training opportunities so vast, that each day comes with a new set of challenges. It takes a very special kind of marketer and to stay focused, with feet firmly planted on the ground, and mind focused with BLINDERS ON to head for the ultimate goal: Finding high quality people to sponsor in your MLM or customers to sell your product/service to, such that it leads to Daily or Weekly Transactions, Revenue, and Duplication. Are you focused?   How many people are successfully accomplishing this..HONESTLY (online)?

I am NOT talking about selling affiliate products. I am not talking about creating your own products. You may be doing fantastic with either of those areas. I am talking about your primary network marketing opportunity. What we have seen are struggling marketers by the hundreds and hundreds, online. Yes you who is getting mad reading this who is making plenty of income, I am NOT talking to you! I am talking to the people who are spending THOUSANDS trying to figure this out!! Some, are wasting just as much as they are spending, because they are not applying a tenth of the education. Why?? Because there is another exciting or better offer flying in your face every time you turn around. Focus? But is THAT the issue? It’s nobody’s fault…it’s simply a serious issue, we need to start talking about. As one very good online teacher told me early on “Pick ONE STRATEGY, and MASTER IT, Do NOT buy anything, or move into any other areas, until you’re making money with that strategy”. Network

Marketers have seen this gigantic shift over the past 5 years, and at the same time a confusing message has been going out during this time that “old school” methods don’t work or “are dead. You can look at millions of people in mlm of the last 25 years and historically disprove that statement. These methods have put food on our tables, and the tables of thousands of people we have helped over the years. Yes,  many casualties of the industry will say these methods “don’t work”…and I would tell you that this is the same person that is consistently failing online most likely and blaming the courses, their program, compensation plan, upline whatever. A determined, passionate marketer with the right heart can and does make anything work

Technology Overload

We are all promoting strong opportunities, or I suppose some stronger than others. Meanwhile we’re  living our lives in and instant-up-to-the-minute social media context, where information is delivered so quickly that privacy and intimacy are things we are hard pressed to remember in the moment. But remember we must! I know I have to remember to go on “offline mode” much more often!

I saw a television piece this morning on the “Today”show about a family who had given up technology for an entire 6 months, and the mother wrote a book entitled The Winter of Our Disconnect. by Susan Maushart.  She and her daughter were interviewed on their experiences, totally relinquishing all cell phones, tv, video games, i pods etc for that long winter. This family was forced to deal with each other and look each other in the eyes again! One son actually got his instrument out of the closet and learned to play it. Why does that seem so amazing? How does this relate to us as marketers?

What would happen if Network Marketers had to UNPLUG from technology for an entire 6 months? What if we had to go back to building the business without facebook, youtube, twitter, and Linkedin, BetterNetworker, EzineArticles, Wordpress etc.  What if we were forced back to interpersonal connections locally, and using things like snail mail? Would your prospects be plum blown away if they received a hand-written note from you with a smiley face, a a short personal story? What if you met with someone at Starbuck’s for coffee to show them your website tour? Struck up a conversation at the car wash and handed out your card, then stuck a few on the bulletin board? Set up a free lunch “fish bowl” at your local” restaurant”. I know many of you DO these things every day, and invite people into your living rooms, and YES they still work!!

I suppose the bottom line is that Marketing is marketing. We can do a bunch of things or nothing. The internet can be a large part of what we do or all of what we do.If you’re not learning how to build a large list , and how to leverage that list forever, generating  you income online,so that it’s  NOT taking a great majority or your time, you have not mastered the marketing skills you need for any successful business.

Getting It Out In The Open

Until we can face some of the real questions, talk about solutions as leaders (especially online)  we cannot truthfully help each other and move forward as a fruitful, abundant, prospering industry both online and offline. We would truly appreciate your honest comments below! Larry’s Message “No Fluff” (All Results) Marketing

This may not be a blog post that optimizes great on Google, because all the search terms are perfectly researched and scoped out. But the message is clear. Larry is talking ! As many of you who have been syndicating and following our blog have most obviously noticed, (and to be as transparent as possible), Larry has not been participating in the “online” portion of our business!!He will tell you that he has been “offline” participating in Revenue Generating Activities.

The attraction marketing concept and personal branding has been missing a BIG personality…and there has been some major reasons for this. As stated in the previous post, Larry has been a traditional Network Marketer for a very long time, and has preferred to keep it that way!  He will tell you all about it…STAY TUNED IN. You will learn! It was out of pure pressure that we got him to do this video!!

He is a MASTER MARKETER. Larry believes the BASICS are the BASICS and can be done when a master marketer is dropped into any city, with only the shirt on their back.  Watch and learn friends..this first video is simply an introduction. There will be much more to come very soon. Though you all know I am extremely prejudice (an rightly so!) I will tell you that Larry is my mentor and taught me how to do this business back when I was a scared housewife, determined to figure it out. He threw me in the cold water, and taught me to swim “the hard way” and I became a master marketer very quickly. If you want to learn…hang in there!
